About Simon

 

Simon Ayley is currently Business Development Director for Synthotech (delivering R&D projects and innovative products to the utilities sector), responsible for successive years of business growth, whilst also flexing to bid, win then support the delivery of multi-million pound “world-first” projects.

A senior representative of the UK onshore gas industry, Simon has recently completed his term as President of IGEM (Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers), and remains involved with the promotion and future development of the gas industry.

In a career spanning 20 years, Simon has delivered all aspects of engineering design and construction project lifecycles, from detailed design and design management, to on-site construction and project management, to the highest of safety standards.  He has held Director positions for the last 7 years and enjoys being part of dynamic senior leadership teams.

Most roles over the last 12 years have required Simon to play a key part in shaping business for the future.  This has included significant restructuring programmes (200+ staff), implementation of CRM systems, development of new marketing and growth strategies, property upgrades and successfully launching into new sectors.
